Rowton Castle and nearby nature reserves offer more to unpick, each part of a landscape that rewards those who take their time.

The area holds a treasure box of delights for walkers and nature lovers too. Rodney’s Pillar can be seen from the glamping site itself, and its viewpoint offers a rewarding ramble for anyone wanting a little adventure without straying far. Keen or novice cyclists will find Cycle Route 81 right on the doorstep, winding through country lanes and borderland scenery at a pace as energetic or as leisurely as you like.

You’re only 25 minutes from the historic town of Shrewsbury, perfect for browsing independent shops, wandering timber-framed streets or strolling by the river through Quarry Park. To the west, Welshpool sits just 16 minutes away, leading you back into castle grounds, gardens and rolling hills.

As evening returns to Bryn Gwyn, the sky gradually fills with stars—clear, bright and uninterrupted by streetlights. The family who live on site offer a warm welcome and know the best places to eat, walk and explore, so you can make the most of your time away.
