Hotel Phillips

We checked in after hours so our check in letter was on the counter with all the check in directions. The sliding door, at the ramp to use the cart to transport our luggage inside, was turned off. We had to call the person on call to help who had to call maintenance and they were able to trouble shoot and found that the power to the door was turned off. I think this is the only issue we had. It was very clean. The roof access was neat but was occupied by several older people who smoked the entire time and as a non smoker that was unpleasant.

Loved staying at Hotel Phillips and hope to return - even if I had to wait for someone to check me in!

The locks didn’t work very well on the door to my room. Homeless people made themselves at home in the free cafe. Apart from that, it was good.

This was a great set up for two couples. One huge bedroom with a queen bed and bathroom. It was especially nice to have two rooms for this bathroom. By this I mean there was a room with a toilet and a nice shower behind a door and a room with a table and sink and vanity behind a door. The other bedroom was smaller with a queen bed and the access to the bathroom required going through the living room. Each couple just used their respective bathroom. It was nice sized as well. There were individual window units in each bedroom and in the living room. They were a little loud but it was good white noise for sleeping. We never heard any noise from another room. There are things to buy for breakfast and a coffee pot available but I’m not sure if there’s a free breakfast. We enjoyed the rooftop terrace. The speakeasy in the basement had young adults playing pool when we went about 4pm. Although there was liquor behind the bar, there wasn’t a bartender. We didn’t really know what the protocol was so we didn’t stick around. This property was nice and very clean and convenient. It had a good vibe and we all enjoyed our stay.
