White House Villa Hiriketiya

My stay at the White House was amazing. The property is absolutely beautiful and brand new. The bed is a beautiful four poster, very comfortable and very big. The bathroom is an ensuite which is also decorated wonderfully and has hot water for the shower (which can be hard to find in Sri Lanka). Throughout our stay here we spent a lot of time on the instagram-worthy terrace - it is huge and decorated with big green plants, has a stunning view across the town and even comes equipped with an outdoor kitchen (including gas hob, full size fridge freezer and all utensils/crockery/cooking equipment). The location is excellent - outside of busy Hiriketiya and in a very welcoming local neighbourhood with affordable restaurants and bakeries nearby. The beach is only a 10 minutes drive max and we rented a scooter for our time there. The host is so kind and helpful - he said "ok no problem!" to any request we had and happily answered any question. We were invited to breakfast and dinners with his family on special occasions and we really felt like we were welcomed in to their family! We will miss them all a lot after leaving Sri Lanka and will stay at the White House again when we come back to Hiriketiya!

The building is incredible. It is high up with a terrific balcony and a phenomenal view. There is no bugs or mosquitoes so we were completely satisfied. It has hot water, fridge/freezer and cooking appliances. Everything you need for a holiday or long stays. The property is very clean, bed is comfy and the location is prime. Not too far away from hiriketiya (10 mins) so you get the peace and tranquility you want while you have the option to go to the beach in no time. The balcony rooftop has a terrific view of the sunset and it really is a nice place to chill and relax in private. The landlord and his family are so kind and they really ensure that we have an amazing experience. Moreover the local neighbourhood is very welcoming and friendly. I can’t praise the landlord and property enough, we really had the best time and wish we could stay longer!
