Al Castello Aparthotel - Camere e Appartamenti tra Verona e Lago di Garda

We really enjoyed the location! It is a quiet, smaller town but about 20 mins to Verona and 20 mins to Lago di Garda. Our host was amazing! He gave us many good suggestions of things to do and places to eat! Apartment was perfect, nicely updated and so clean.

The bells in the tower are a little loud- but we enjoyed them!

1) Location of the hotel. Palazzolo is a small village located about 20–25 minutes by car from Verona and from beautiful towns on Lake Garda such as Sirmione, Peschiera del Garda, Lazise and others. There is also a large shopping centre on Via del Lavoro, on the way to Verona, about 10–15 minutes away by car. 2) There are three parking spaces on the hotel property, and there is also a free public parking area with many spaces about 50 metres away. 3) The apartment has a completely new interior: new bathroom equipment, kitchen furniture, table and shower. The water pressure in the shower is very good. It really feels like a completely new building. 4) The manager who met us for check-in uses a translation app on his phone to communicate with guests, so it is absolutely enough to speak only your native language. Communication is quite flexible. 5) The manager came one hour earlier for our check-in, even though we had originally agreed on a later time at our own request. Since we arrived one hour earlier as well, we did not have to wait in the car. 6) A plastic key card is used to enter the apartment, so there is no need to carry a set of keys. 7) The shower area is very spacious, and the water pressure is excellent. 8) The bathroom was very clean when we checked in. 9) The Wi-Fi connection was good, with good internet speed. 10) The mattress was comfortable. 11) Air conditioning is available.

1) The description says that there is a kettle in the apartment, but there is no kettle. We were told that a kettle was not provided because it would reduce the authenticity of the apartment, and that water for tea could be boiled in a saucepan. However, there was only one saucepan. In the end, we had to buy a kettle in a nearby supermarket. The main misunderstanding for us is why something is mentioned in the description if it is not actually available. 2) An iron has to be requested in advance, because the manager is not always at the reception. There is no iron inside the apartment. 3) The sound insulation is quite average. We had very good neighbours, but we could still easily hear someone yawning or coughing. If you are unlucky with your neighbours, this may become an important issue. 4) Without a car, there is not much sense in choosing these apartments. You may simply end up walking around Palazzolo, which is a nice place, but it is very, very small. There is not even a grocery supermarket there. 5) In the bathroom there is only one bottle of hand soap. There are no shower toiletries at all. Please keep this in mind and bring everything you need with you, such as shampoo and body lotion. Interestingly, toilet paper was provided. 6) In the kitchen there is only a small amount of dishwashing liquid. Nothing else is provided. There is no tea, coffee, salt or detergent for the dishwasher. All of these things need to be purchased separately. 7) There is a church or clock tower directly behind the wall, and the bells are very noticeable. This is literally very close. The bells ring every hour from around 7 a.m. until 9 p.m., and also at 15 and 30 minutes past the hour. If you want to sleep longer in the morning, it is better to use earplugs. 8) The shower head holder in the bathroom and the tap fixture at the sink seem to be installed quite poorly. Every time we used them, we had the feeling that something could break or fall down.
