This is a beautiful traditional style home but with modern amenities. It has two toilets and a big bathroom. Every room has air conditioning unit so temperature was very comfortable despite hot weather in July.

It is a little house in a real neighbourhood. The decor was superb and really well thought out (dimmed lights set into wall and reproduction art). Teenagers loved it.

Nothing.

Our stay was excellent, and a big part of that was our wonderful host, Niru. Communication was outstanding from the moment we booked until after we checked out. Every message was friendly, prompt, and helpful. The check-in process was simple and well organized, with clear instructions and detailed information provided in advance. Niru was always available to answer questions and even took the time to recommend local attractions and festivals that were suitable for our family traveling with a baby. What really stood out was the genuine care and hospitality. Niru checked in to make sure we were enjoying our stay and wanted us to experience the best of Kyoto. It felt like we had a local friend rather than just a host. I highly recommend staying here. If we visit Kyoto again, we would gladly book with Shizuya Home again. Thank you for making our trip so memorable!
