Location.

The apartment is very basic. The photographs are accurate but flattering! On arrival, there were a couple of bugs on the floor plus a larger squashed one. This instantly made me anxious in case there were others! The rug was stained, so we rolled it up and put it to one side during our stay. The artwork on the wall hanging above the headboard was very dusty. The bed was fine, but there were only two small, flat pillows, and they obviously had some kind of plastic covering inside, which is understandable, but perhaps the owner could look at other solutions. I put my pillow in a tee shirt! On the opposite wall at the end of the bed was a huge tv, but since it was at the bottom of the bed, it was overpowering. The light above the bed was very bright. There were no bedside lamps. The kitchen was clean but unfathomably well stocked with every kind of pot and pan and drawers of cutlery, but there was only one small table and two stools which were just inside the entrance to the flat. The view out the kitchen window was into some kind of internal utility area with other apartment windows facing into it, too. The bathroom was as per the photos. The shower worked well, there was plenty of hot water, and some things were provided like loo roll, handwash, and shower gel, which was appreciated. If you don't mind basic, then this is the place for you. One thing you can't argue with is the location. It is just a few minutes' walk to the Gran Via. It sits in a little square with bars, cafés and access to a metro underground station.
