Great setup with a wide range of amenities, very well set up for a short stay (I did say to my partner that I also thought it would be beautiful for a writing retreat or other creative endeavour, if I could afford self-indulgent trips to Norway!). The hosts were very accommodating and welcoming, although we didn't see much of them - thanks for being okay with us arriving at 2am and letting ourselves in! Thanks even more for returning the 500kr that dropped out of my pocket while we were setting off for a walk! The view was stunning, and the walks around the area were beautiful. There is a supermarket very close by, and I enjoyed a nice swim in the fjord. It really felt like the hosts had thought of everything, from offering alternative bedding options to having hotplates and even an air fryer. For such a small place, it was remarkably self-contained and full of pleasant surprises. I would absolutely stay there again given half a chance!

It was slightly hard to find the guest house when we arrived (although that might have been because it was 2am and we were a bit drunk!) - we initially only saw the main house and didn't realise the guest house was off to one side. For some reason, a lot of dust collected overnight. The place was very clean when we got there, so I'm not sure whether that was to do with the air conditioning or something? A very minor issue, but perhaps something to watch out for if you have asthma or dust allergies. Finally, the most British of complaints - not a great tea selection! There were excellent options for coffee, but the only teas were fruity or herbal blends.
