Although on a main road and by a station there was no noise

Location is amazing, friendly staff and great value.

The location was very convenient, literally next to the overground station and near to the main road/high street. Because the building was right next to the station, you could obviously hear trains going past, but that didn't bother us too much. The room decor was ok and the bed was comfy.

It was hot and humid in the room, there was a fan but it didn't work particularly well. This was a ground floor room and you couldn't open the main windows as they were locked and faced out onto the main road and the small window next to the bathroom didn't make much difference to the temperature of the room when it was open. The room wasn't cleaned well enough, there was a hair on the bed, in the shower and in the microwave which was bizarre. The dishes that were in the cupboard were still wet and some still had food on. The towels had obviously just been washed but were still damp so we couldn't use them right away which was inconvenient as we wanted to shower before heading back out to dinner. There wasn't any spare toilet rolls or bin provided in the bathroom and the shower either ran very hot or cold there was no in-between. Overall as two female guests, we didn't feel super safe in there at night and other guests were being loud and sounded like they were outside our door a lot. Also when we came back around midnight from All Points East festival, the front door to the building was wide open and the door leading to the stairs was also wide open which made us feel really unsafe but was probably due to the carelessness of other guests.
