Complex:

Nestled in the peaceful pine forest landscape of the Baltic Sea resort of Baabe lies the lovingly furnished Hanseatchen bungalow. Here, up to two people and a small dog will find plenty of space to enjoy a carefree vacation in the beautiful Baltic Sea resort of Baabe.

The Baltic Sea resort of Baabe on the island of Rügen enchants its visitors with its maritime charm, expansive beaches, and fascinating history. First mentioned in historical records in the 13th century, Baabe was long a small fishing and farming village before it developed into a popular seaside resort starting in the late 19th century. Even today, the historic village street with its thatched-roof houses is a reminder of that era, while the tree-lined avenues and the spa park preserve the classic charm of a Baltic Sea resort.

Nature lovers appreciate Baabe’s unique location: nestled between the Baltic Sea and the Bodden, framed by the Baabe Dunes and the Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve, it offers countless opportunities for active recreation. Whether it’s a bike ride through the Baabe Heath, a hike to the Bollwerk lookout point, or a leisurely ride on the historic narrow-gauge railway Rasender Roland—Baabe offers a variety of adventures right on your doorstep.

Excursions to the surrounding area are also well worth it: the sophisticated Baltic Sea resort of Göhren is just a few minutes away, as is Sellin with its famous pier. Those looking to experience culture can visit the Mönchgut Local History Museum or take a detour to Putbus, Rügen’s “white town.”

Baabe combines tradition, nature, and a maritime way of life—an ideal starting point for relaxing days and inspiring adventures on Germany’s most beautiful island.
