La Terrazza del Sole a Positano

The hosts were exceptional. They made us feel part of the family, we can’t thank them enough. We rented here for the terrace and it did not disappoint. It was truly magical and made the entire stay in Positano. Mind you we ate exceptionally well thanks to Valentina’s recommendations. Grazie Mille

The location is nice and central to most things. The shared terrace provided a nice view.

When we first arrived, we met with the owner, Valentina, who showed us our room. With the introduction to the unit, she made sure to lay out all the "rules" about the unit and what not to do (do not bring sand into the unit, do not eat or drink any of your own food or drinks on the terrace, etc.). It did not feel very welcoming to us to have her lay down the rules instead of telling us how we could enjoy the terrace and the property. We would have loved to enjoy the terrace with our unit but felt a bit uneasy. We felt a little unwelcome from this introduction. The room they had us in was directly adjacent to the owner's unit where there was a lot of noise and we could hear chairs being moved around the floor and just lots of activity through the walls. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable for us. The bed does not have a headboard, and the wall is very hard, especially because they only provide one pillow each, so you cannot comfortably sit up in bed with no headboard to lean your head against. The unit was clean but did not show any hominess and was quite sterile. There was nothing in the unit that was personalized, just bed, desk, and bare minimums (very simple) Nothing showing any comforts. No blow dryer provided. Also, be aware that to locate this property you need to navigate many steps (over 200 steps down from the main road) and you will need a porter to move your bags if you are unable to carry suitcases down or up the stairs. We wanted to love this place and could have if they made you feel more comfortable and welcoming. They did not provide any basics like water without a charge. Also, they did offer a breakfast for a price, but there was nothing special provided on the menu that looked appealing, just basic eggs, toast, coffee, etc. We were somewhat shocked by this place after reading the good reviews from others, we expected so much more.
