Summary:

Stay beside the Arkansas River in a genuine, rustic Colorado cabin with mountain views, just 15 minutes from Salida. A simple, comfortable basecamp for rafting, fishing, hiking, exploring... or doing nothing by the river. This is an older, well-loved cabin with plenty of character, not a new or luxury vacation rental. If you value a beautiful setting, privacy, and authentic cabin character over modern finishes, you'll feel right at home here.

The Space:

The River Cabin sits near the Arkansas River in the quiet community of Howard, surrounded by the mountains and open spaces of the Arkansas River Valley.

Inside, you'll find two private bedrooms, comfortable living area, kitchen, and private bathroom. Original wood floors, wood trim, and the cabin's simple, older construction give it the character of a true Colorado river cabin rather than a modern condo or resort stay.

Outside is where this place really earns its name. The Arkansas River is just steps away, with mountain views and easy access to fishing, rafting, and time along the river. Salida is about 15 minutes away, making the cabin an easy basecamp for exploring town while staying somewhere quieter at the end of the day.

A good fit for: guests looking for a private, casual cabin in a beautiful riverside setting; couples, anglers, rafters, hikers, road-trippers, and travelers who appreciate older cabins with character.

Probably not the right fit for: travelers looking for recently renovated interiors, luxury furnishings, or a polished resort-style experience.

Guest Access:

Guests have full access to the entire cabin and the outdoor area surrounding it.

Parking is available on the property directly outside the cabin. The Arkansas River and nearby outdoor recreation areas are just steps away.
