The cottage in focus was originally the living quarters of the full-time fireman responsible for maintaining a constant fire in the boiler room when the mill transitioned to steam power. This charming conversion situates the light and comfortable bedrooms on the ground floor, while the main living area, positioned upstairs, offers breathtaking views of the iconic mill and the flowing River Goyt. A brief stroll past the imposing chimney stack leads to the award-winning Millennium Walkway—a 160 m-long cantilevered marvel that winds through the rugged gritstone gorge at Torrs, New Mills.
