DavidL Hotel Tbilisi

Excellent good value very small hotel very close to Avlabari metro and airport bus 337, several small unpretentious restaurants and a nice street market (fruit and vegetables) plus several small grocery stores. A few minutes walk to big cathedral on the hill, and in the other direction to river bridge and historic and tpuristic centre, but Avlabari is authentic and at all touristic. Margaret and Armen were friendly and welcoming and both speak English. The bathroom was small but that is expected in an old building. Very good soundproofing of balcony windows, it kept out the street nouse well

The staff are very friendly and helpful. There’s a sofa at the reception where I was allowed to rest until the room was ready. Location is close to the metro, many places to eat around.

The single room is tiny and cluttered with useless old broken furniture, maybe other rooms are bigger, I don’t know. Bad smell from the carpet and sofa. The shower is actually a hose attached to the sink tap and pouring over the toilet. It worked but I was nervous about the hairdryer on the wall with the socket sticking out. For this level of “comfort” the price shouldn’t be more than $20, paying $34 per night is a rip off.

Host is very kind and helpful.
