Overall, this is a nice little studio apartment and a pleasant place to stay. The location is great, which was definitely one of the biggest positives.

There were a few inconveniences. Since the apartment is on the first floor, I didn’t feel comfortable keeping the blinds open. There is no TV or microwave, and I also couldn’t use the gas stove because it required a lighter to ignite it, and there wasn't one. The floors are quite squeaky, which by itself is only a minor inconvenience. However, when someone checked into the apartment upstairs and walked back and forth for about 20 minutes at 6:30 a.m., the noise was loud enough that I couldn’t fall back asleep. There also seemed to be cigarette smoke coming into the bathroom from a neighboring apartment, so I frequently had to use the air freshener. I appreciate that the host provided one, and I understand that noise and smoke from neighboring units may be difficult for the host to control. What was much more disappointing, and something that should have been addressed, was the cleanliness. There were different kinds of hair on the bathroom floor, grime in the sink, and even a dried-out contact lens on the windowsill. Considering that I was charged a $150 cleaning fee, I expected the apartment to be properly cleaned before my arrival. Unfortunately, whoever was responsible for cleaning did not do a thorough job.
