THE HOKUSAI HOTEL Ikebukuro West, Tokyo

Rien.

This is a really beautiful place to stay. It's very new and such a well-equipped little apartment. So we ll planned with many extra touches. There is almost everything we need, along with things people maybe haven't thought of but which are really nice to have, too. Loved the washer dryer and proper stove top and all sorts of things. Enough pillows! Happiness! It's a really tasteful and quite spacious place for Tokyo. It's quite light and relatively easy to access. I felt lucky to be able to stay there, to be honest.

One request: a full-length mirror would be nice. Almost everything else had been thought of! The only thing that made me a little uncomfortable was the pressure to give the hotel a 10. It's a lovely place, and I think you can trust guests to appreciate it without prompting. I also wasn't keen on comments about not providing room cleaning because “we want you to feel like you're living in Tokyo.” I'm perfectly happy without daily cleaning, especially if it helps keep rates down. It doesn't really need the spin. So that was my only niggle: some of the communication felt a little patronising. I'd love to stay here again and hope I'll still be welcome! :)

The artwork is really beautiful and everything was clean and need. Just a little challenge with suitcases regarding space and to pack things. But it is not so far from the train station as well as a 7 Eleven
