From the moment we arrived for our two-night stay, Penny Royal Guest Cottages in Somerset West completely exceeded our expectations. Johan is an exceptional host, going above and beyond to ensure our every need was met with genuine warmth and attentiveness. His communication before and during our stay was consistently clear and concise, making check-in effortless and our entire experience stress-free.
The property itself is superb in every way, tucked into a fantastic location that offers a peaceful retreat while remaining wonderfully accessible to everything the area has to offer. It is rare to find a host who truly cannot do enough for their guests, but Johan’s dedication to hospitality set a completely new standard for us. The cottage is comfortable, beautifully maintained, and provides a truly relaxing atmosphere from start to finish.
We are already looking forward to our next visit because we will definitely be back. Anyone seeking a flawless, welcoming getaway in Somerset West need look no further than Penny Royal Guest Cottages. Thank you, Johan, for making our stay unforgettable.

Maybe an addition would be an added bonus in the Summer time. That would be the icing on the cake for us.

Johann was a warm and cordial host. The rustic asthetics were definately a nice touch. There was large kitchen area and fridge and microwave to easy meals. The property location is high in elevation so a car or Uber is required. There is electric blankets and oil heater the cooler evenings. There are plenty of yummy eats in town and Summerset Mall is 10-15minutes away for everything you could want, as well as wineries. It was a real treat and highly recommend.

Beautifully curated, manicured and styled, the host Johann, what an exceptional person, we received the most amazing support and service, really went the extra mile and insisted on it.
