Waste of our time

Nothing. It was an awful experience.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was honestly one of the worst accommodation experiences we have ever had, and future travelers deserve to know the full situation before booking this property. My fiancée and I booked this accommodation when it was still a new listing with no reviews. We intentionally decided to give the host a chance because we assumed he was simply at the beginning of building his business on Booking.com. We also believed that the lower price was most likely intended to attract first guests and collect positive reviews before increasing the price later. Most importantly, we trusted that the listing information would accurately reflect the real conditions of the accommodation because Booking.com is supposed to verify properties before allowing them to appear on the platform. Naturally, we assumed this process existed specifically to prevent situations like this from happening to guests. At the time of booking, the listing clearly advertised both a private room and a private bathroom. However, shortly after the payment was completed, the host informed us through Booking.com messages that the bathroom would actually be shared. The very next day, we immediately contacted Booking.com support by phone to report the issue. During that conversation, the Booking.com representative explicitly confirmed that the description we booked and paid for did not match the actual conditions of the accommodation and acknowledged that there were clear problems with the listing information. Despite this, we never received any proper follow-up afterwards. There were no calls, no emails, and no information regarding any refund or free cancellation option. This is especially important because we intentionally booked the non-refundable option from the beginning, as we were 100% certain we would travel to the city and needed accommodation for our stay. Since we received no resolution from Booking.
