The Cottage is a super little place hidden away in a jumble of cottages in the picturesque Peak District village of Elton. It boasts a warm and comfortable interior with a cosy lounge gathered around the glowing log burning stove, sunny conservatory in the traditional cottage garden, compact ultra-modern kitchen and a lovely double bedroom and adjoining dressing room. It’s just a perfect little retreat from which to explore all of Derbyshire.


Elton is just as special with its attractive village church and the surrounding world-famous landscape of the Peak Park. It’s wonderful to wander down peaceful Gratton Dale, explore Cratcliffe Rocks with the Hermit’s Cave or climb to the top of Robin Hood’s Stride. If you are feeling more adventurous then set off along the Limestone Way which will take you out across the tops of the Peaks all the way to Castleton.


As you walk the numerous local footpaths, cycle the trails or drive the country lanes the scenery is breathtaking with its ‘big’ skies, amazing ‘top of the world’ edges, dramatic dales with sparkling rivers and super villages. It is hard to imagine that the lovely market town of Bakewell and magnificent Chatsworth House are just a 10-minute drive away. Go a little further to find Matlock Bath with the Heights of Abraham cable cars, The Great British Car Journey, Carsington Water and the National Tramway Museum.
