The open-plan kitchen/diner has everything you need to cook up a storm, and a handy utility room and WC are also provided. Get cosy after busy days exploring in the large living room, fire up the wood burner and get competitive over a board game. When you are ready for some shuteye, head upstairs to the three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and a window seat where you can enjoy the views, as well as a handy en-suite shower room. The second bedroom has a double bed and window seat, and the third bedroom contains twin beds. The family bathroom completes the accommodation. To the rear of the property is a fabulous patio garden with sun loungers, table and chairs, and a BBQ, a wonderful space for al fresco dining and soaking up the surrounding scenery.

Situated in the idyllic mining village of Swaledale, you will be well-placed to explore the superb national park. Head off on foot or bike along the Coast to Coast Walk which passes through the village or hop in the car and take a trip over Buttertubs Pass (3.5 miles), a road crossing the moorland where you can admire views and see the limestone potholes once used to store butter. For delicious meals out and an eclectic mix of shops, head to the leafy town of Richmond (22 miles).
