Pet Policy

We’re happy to welcome dogs to join you on your getaway! Please note that due to allergies, we’re unable to accommodate cats. A $29 pet fee applies per furry friend, per night to help cover additional cleaning and care. Thanks for understanding—we look forward to hosting you and your pup!



Longer Stays

For stays of 14 nights or longer, guests will be asked to e-sign a rental agreement prior to arrival. This agreement helps us comply with local requirements while protecting the property, and will be sent in advance for review.



Water System Information

Our property uses a water treatment system that performs a brief regeneration cycle each day. During this period, you may notice a mild sulfur or septic-like odor from the water. This is normal, temporary, and does not indicate a problem with the water system.

For drinking water during the regeneration cycle, please use the dedicated water faucet located in the kitchen. This water remains available and is safe for drinking at all times.

1. Sherando Park (distance from house - 10 mins) A massive 330-acre park offering a fishing lake, hiking trails, a 25-meter pool, and an 18-hole disc golf course.

2. Newtown History Center (distance from house - 10 mins) Located on Main Street, this museum explores the town's origins as a wagon-making hub and its role during the Civil War. It’s a very quick trip from your location.

3. Belle Grove Plantation (distance from house - 10 mins) A stunning 1797 manor house and National Historic Landmark. It served as a headquarters during the Battle of Cedar Creek and offers guided tours of the house and grounds.

4. Cedar Creek & Belle Grove National Historical Park (distance from house - 10 mins) Focuses on the 1864 Battle of Cedar Creek. You can do a self-guided driving tour of the battlefield or hike the interpretive trails.

5. Historic Winchester (distance from house - 20 mins) Just a short drive to boutique shops, art galleries, farm-to-table restaurants, lively cafés, and seasonal markets. Explore murals, historic landmarks, and enjoy live music and community events for a perfect day out.

6. Valerie Hill Winery (distance from house - 15 mins) Located in a historic (and reportedly haunted) brick manor house, this winery offers tastings and often hosts live music and "History & Hauntings" events.

7. Marker-Miller Orchards (distance from house - 30 mins) A bit further toward Winchester, this farm market is famous for its apple cider donuts, pick-your-own produce, and a massive playground for kids.

8. The Family Drive-In Theatre (distance from house - 10 mins) A nostalgic two-screen drive-in that has been operating since 1956. It’s one of the few left in Virginia and is perfect for a double feature under the stars.

9. Appleland Sports Center (distance from house - 10 mins) A great spot for kids and groups, featuring mini-golf, a driving range, batting cages, and "gel blaster" games.

10. Dinosaur Land (distance from house - 20 mins) A quirky, classic roadside attraction in White Post with over 50 life-sized fiberglass dinosaurs and creatures. It’s a favorite for photo ops and young children.
