POOR ACCOMODATION WAS NOT WHAT WE PAID FOR.
The location ( Maison Alfont Alfontville) was suitable to both of us. We liked the feel of the area, the shops bars and places to eat that suited our needs very well.
We did not like the fact we were notified of a leak just before boarding our Eurostar departure and were asked if we would stay somewhere else which we agreed to as we had been travelling since 8am that morning and it was 7.30 in the evening. The operator offered us somewhere else. We asked for somewhere similar i.e like for like ( we had booked a 2 bed roomed apartment so we could both have our own space and get sleep as one of us snores at night. The operator sent a photo and we replied that the photo was showing only one room. The operator relplied and said to come there as there were are 2 rooms. On arrival there was 1 room with 3 beds in it. The operator said that was all that was available. The double bed in the room was 2 singles pushed togerther, the other 2 single beds were not made up and one was dirty. We had to ask for bedding for the other bed to be made up. The bedding was of a poor standard, the curtains in the room were covered in paint and did not meet in the middle. The wardrobe was dirty and had to be cleaned before we could hang up any clothing. The shower had filthy cloudy doors, the bathroom shelving was caked in dust and dirt. The toilet had a flusher that was perched on top of the toilet. By Friday morning we could no longer flush the toilet. The whole flooring in the flat was covered in dust and grime, you could not walk barefoot in that room. The operator did not even give us a courtesy call to see how we felt or the contact about a partial refund. We booked Ivry Sur Seine ( 2 bed room apartment but got a dorm room in anothe area. Refund was offered but how could we take it when we had been travelling all day and in a foreign country with no idea where to go to get accomodation. We asked the operator if we would get a partial refund as THE ACCOMODATION WAS NOT WHAT WE PAID FOR. He said he would come back to us in the middle of fhe week. This came and went.
