We were very excited to stay in Chicago for the night. When we arrived, we found out that while the listing said there was kitchen access, the kitchen was blocked off. We then found out through the host talking to us through the partition they put up that the hosts live downstairs, something that was also undisclosed. There were also no smoke/carbon monoxide detectors in the livingroom (the holders were there but the actual detectors were gone) and there appeared to be no fire extinguisher (assuming it was likely in the kitchen that was blocked). When I told the host that the listing included kitchen, they initially denied it and later admitted they should have removed it from the listing. However, they continued to justify the situation by saying their listing on another site said no kitchen. We did not stay because we needed access to a fridge for food and medical reasons. VRBO was fantastic with helping resolve it and getting us a refund. I wouldn't recommend booking here.
