- compact and in an excel location - owners were brilliant, fast replies and excellent communication - the Wi-Fi was excellent and same with the shower and toilets

- Was very dark during the day hard to light up , mainly downstairs - floors were creaky ( minor inconvenience)

Katerina and her family were brilliant from start to finish. From the seamless airport transfers they organized to the yummy treats they left for us, they couldn't have been better hosts. The property is older as mentioned in other reviews but we loved the old world charm and the terrace area with it's beautiful flowers and the amazing view was a highlight. We absolutely loved having our morning cups of tea and evening drinks out there and even enjoyed several meals at home rather than venturing out again. The location was also ideal. There was a supermarket only 5 min walk away and Old Town was only a 15 - 20 minute walk. Also the tour companies we used had a pick up spot on the main road only 3 mins walk from the front door which was perfect especially for the early morning pick ups as we were usually the last group collected and then the first group dropped back which was great. As mentioned by other reviewers there are a lot of stairs to navigate so the property may not suit all guests i.e. anyone with mobility issues or very young children but you can't avoid stairs in Dubrovnik and for us the stay was perfect.

The 300+ steps from old town back to the house was difficult especially in the heat.

The view from the bedroom window is now burnt into my mind! The beauty of the wine grapes in the front, roofs of the city and then the Old City and the sea. The taste of grapes, the view of the sea, the pleasant taste of the house. Yes, the taste! It all was a perfect balance – smell, view, placement, atmosphere. The history of the house can be seen and felt in every room and and outside. But in this house all of that together it made it HOME for our stay and not just the house to stay in. Being with kids we enjoyed eating all the meals outside and having the garden paths for the kids to wander through. The rooms were so nice and comfortable, it’s hard to think of wanting more. Yes, during this stay we cooked very little, but it was the season of fruits and we had some dinners out in the city as well. However all the meals and late night snacks we had, we had outside. Even right after a heavy rainfall. Pure magic! Many thanks for the warm welcome and stories about the city. Of course, the kids remember the tasty cookies quite often. :) I quietly hope that maybe someday we’d be able to visit this magical place once more!
