Everything here is white and continuous: the resin floor runs from the kitchen through to the bedroom with no thresholds, and on a clear morning the light off the full-height windows travels the whole length of it.

60 m² — large for a Milan one-bedroom — quiet even late at night, with a lift, two small balconies and air conditioning in both rooms.

Metro M1 and M4 are each a ten-minute walk, plus tram and bus. Groceries and shops are far closer.

Then there's the shower: a large walk-in in grey microcement, which opens onto the hallway on one side and straight into the bedroom on the other. It tends to be the thing people remember.

The living area holds a dining table for four, a sofa, a full peninsula kitchen and a proper desk all at the same time — nothing has to be moved or folded away to use the room. The bedroom is separate, with a double bed and its own air conditioning.

Kitchen — induction hob, a real oven, microwave, dishwasher, wine fridge, coffee machine. Laundry — washing machine and dryer in a dedicated closet. Rare in Italy, and what makes this work for stays of a week or more. Work — desk with an external monitor and fast wifi. Outside — two small balconies, one off the living room.

The flat is full of books, design pieces and things collected over the years. It's somebody's home rather than a rental, and that's rather the point.

Linens, towels and bathroom products are provided, along with coffee and tea — and a bottle of wine in the fridge.
