Historic 1870s Home – Walk to Downtown Valparaiso
Stay in a piece of history in this charming 1870s home, just a short walk from downtown Valparaiso. Full of original character and vintage charm, this home offers a unique experience you won’t find in modern builds.
Please note: this is an older home, and that’s part of its appeal. With that comes quirks—uneven floors, historic finishes, and a layout that reflects its age. If you’re looking for something brand new or modern, this may not be the best fit—but if you appreciate history and character, you’ll feel right at home.
Sleeping & Layout:
Upstairs you’ll find two sleeping areas:
• One bedroom with a king bed, located right at the top of the stairs (open access)
• A second bedroom with a queen bed, separated by a door for added privacy
• A half bath upstairs for convenience
The main level includes a full bathroom, along with the living and kitchen spaces.
Important Location Notes:
The home is located near a police station, fire station, and train tracks, so guests should expect to occasionally hear sirens and passing trains. Light sleepers may want to plan accordingly.
Other Things to Know:
• Not suitable for children due to layout and age of the home
• Best suited for adults who appreciate historic properties
• Walking distance to shops, restaurants, and downtown attractions
If you’re looking for a stay with character, history, and a great location, this home offers a memorable and authentic Valparaiso experience.
