We had a wonderful time at the cottage. The house had everything we needed for a great stay and we loved the huge backyard for yard games and a wonderful setting to enjoy Hutchins lake. Thanks again!

Beautiful house, lake and location! Loved everything about it. Super appreciated all the "extras' from the host. Enjoyed mornings on the lake and exploring some of the nearby towns. Large bedroom was even bigger than expected. House reminded me so much of visiting my Grandmother, in all the best ways. Would love to visit again!

The Hutchins Lake property is as advertised! To start, the cottage was impeccably clean upon arrival-very important to my friend and me! The kitchen was well stocked with spices and utensils for any cooking we wanted to do, and Kym even left us some soda and ice cream for floats, and ingredients for s'mores (which unfortunately we never built a fire to make!)...it was a lovely touch. The cottage was spacious enough to find room for the 5 kids and 2 adults that stayed. With 2 bathrooms it was also easy to get cleaned and settled for the night. The vintage vibe of the cottage was adorable, with small vintage touches throughout.The outdoor area was great with a large lawn to set up yard games. There were croquet and badminton games going on the entire time we were there! There were 3 kayaks and a paddle boat to utilize on the water. The lake itself has a sandy bottom and off the dock it is very shallow-it was great for the little ones to play around and explore, but the bigger kids were not able to do much swimming in the lake as it was weedier out in the deeper areas. But no worries, Lake Michigan beaches are very close: Oval Beach is but 5-10 minutes away, and we made trips there for swimming as well.There are wineries close by, with some of our adult day-visitors enjoying trips there. The kids enjoyed a nightly trip to the Tastee Treet in Fennville for an ice cream, and don't skip the Root Beer Barrel in Douglas for a bit of nostalgia and root beer floats! Just fun!

This home is very cute and the perfect lakeside retreat for my family of 7. The kitchen is retro in style and super cute. It was well stocked with dishes, cookware and spices. The lakefront has a nice sandy bottom and you can wade out quite a ways. There were kayaks, a canoe and paddle boat. It’s wonderful to wake up and have a cup of coffee on the front or back porch. The location is a great base for exploring surrounding towns like Muskegon, Grand Haven, South Haven, Holland and Saugatuck. Cranes Pie Pantry is a quick 5 minute drive and there are several cute restaurants nearby like Roots and the Blue Goose. I would definitely return to this home. Kym is a great host and was quick to answer my questions and offer suggestions.
