The house was exceptional and probably the best-equipped holiday home we have ever stayed in. The kitchen in particular was incredible: high-end appliances and an extraordinary amount of equipment, including a juicer, blender, airfryer, excellent glassware and more plates, cutlery and kitchen equipment than we could possibly need. It was also incredibly generously stocked with coffee pods, oils, spices, sugar and everyday essentials. The whole house was spacious, immaculate and extremely comfortable, with masses of storage. What really impressed us was the thought that had gone into supplying absolutely everything guests might conceivably need: from umbrellas and sturdy shopping bags to plasters, straws and even party supplies. Over 3 weeks, we kept discovering things and thinking, ‘Of course they have that too!’ The outdoor space was beautiful and enormous, with a wonderful terrace and BBQ area. The pool was genuinely the best we have had at a rented villa: beautifully maintained, very clean and accompanied by excellent sunbeds. The location was also fantastic. We easily visited Lake Como, Lake Maggiore and Milan, all less than an hour by car, and the Swiss border is less than 20 minutes away. There is also a huge Esselunga supermarket a couple of minutes away by car and easily walkable. It is a very generously equipped, beautifully maintained home and we were extremely comfortable there for our long stay.

The one significant issue was the washer-dryer, which really needs to be replaced. There was a substantial build-up of mouldy, slimy residue inside the machine and it had a very strong unpleasant smell. After washing, our clothes came out covered in a strange sand-like residue from inside the machine. We tried cleaning it, but ultimately it simply did not feel hygienic. The towels were the other disappointment. They were dark grey, very rough and scratchy, and had an unpleasant smell. Better-quality towels would be much more appropriate for a property of this standard. These issues stood out precisely because everything else about the villa was exceptional. The house is beautifully maintained, extraordinarily well equipped and clearly a great deal of thought and investment has gone into it. Replacing the washer-dryer and upgrading the towels would remove the only real weaknesses we found during an otherwise wonderful 3 week stay.
