The space
Amatlán is a small village nestled in the Sierra del Chichinautzin; traces of its history can be felt in the ancient mountain roads—which its inhabitants care for and cherish—in the stone walls, and in the night that falls gently, filled with the sounds of nature.
The guest quarters offer an unparalleled view and were thoughtfully designed to welcome you into a magical atmosphere with meticulous attention to detail.
The landscape visible from the terrace transforms with each season: it can be a jungle teeming with vegetation and a profusion of flowers, and then a field covered with ochre-colored seeds.
Design-forward architecture and eco-technologies + Chiapas coffee included.
I love sharing this space with respectful and proactive guests and giving them my best recommendations for unique local experiences.
*We appreciate your keeping the area quiet; please do not use speakers and avoid making noise after 8:00 PM.**The host lives in another part of the house; please be considerate.*
Guest Access
A perfect space to come and spend a few days—or perhaps a period of retreat and mindfulness—to focus on your projects.
The guest area has a separate entrance and is attached to the main house.
There is a beautiful saltwater pool that’s perfect for enjoying an experience between land and sea; it is shared with the host.
For your exclusive use, not shared with other guests:
A bedroom with a queen-size bed and mountain views, a desk, a bathroom with high-quality toiletries, a covered terrace, a fully equipped open-concept kitchen, a fire pit area, and a natural garden spanning 1,000 m².
Parking included.
Easily accessible by car and public transportation, 8 km (5 miles) from Tepoz (15–20 minutes); in Amatlán, you can get around on foot.
Great dining options.
Other things to keep in mind
During the rainy season, there are rivers and waterfalls, and pools of crystal-clear water form (June through September). During the dry season, we conserve the rainwater we collect and protect the local biodiversity, which is why everything takes on ochre tones. Enjoy the sounds of nature—please don’t honk your horn ;)
The indigenous people ask that we only climb the mountain with a local guide.
Local restaurants only accept cash.
There are options for massages and temazcal in the region.
At home, we have the modem connected to solar panels so we never lose Internet access, and the connection speed is also very good. Since we’re in the mountains, temporary power outages are very common during the rainy season (though this doesn’t affect the internet).
You can get here by public or private transportation (8 km from Tepoz).
During the dry season (January–May), avoid building campfires—it’s wildfire season :( In the rainy season, everything gets wild; there are storms, and the power may go out temporarily—though this doesn’t affect the internet (June–September).
In Amatlán and some parts of Tepoz, there is no internet or 4G signal.
