Our two-bedroom apartment sits on Piombino's seafront, with a wraparound terrace and balcony looking straight onto the historic Torrione and Rivellino — the medieval fortress complex that once guarded the old harbor. Watch the Elba ferries come and go with your morning espresso, walk just a few minutes to the nearest beach, and find yourself perfectly placed for a week (or two) on Tuscany's Etruscan Coast.

This is a real local home, not a polished rental — it's where families come to slow down, cook with ingredients from the morning market, and discover the part of Tuscany most international travelers never reach.

The layout is ideal for two couples traveling together, or a family of up to six — please note the third sleeping space is a comfortable double sofa bed in the open living area. With two queen bedrooms and a shared bathroom, the apartment has the easy, lived-in feel of a genuine Italian home by the sea.


Getting Here & Parking

The apartment sits just outside the historic center, conveniently outside the ZTL (limited-traffic zone), so you can come and go freely by car. Nearby streets such as Via Leonardo da Vinci offer both free and paid parking, easily managed through the EasyPark app. The building has three flights of stairs and no elevator — an easy climb for most, but worth knowing if you're traveling with very young children or limited mobility.


The View

The terrace looks onto the Torrione Pisano and Rivellino, the 13th-century stone fortress that once defended Piombino's harbor from pirate raids. Beyond it: the open Tyrrhenian Sea, the Elba ferries crossing day and night, and on clear days the silhouettes of Elba, Capraia, and even Corsica on the horizon. Sunsets here turn the whole bay gold — bring a glass of local wine out to the terrace and you'll understand why we chose this spot. This is the view you'll remember.
