Once you arrive, you will find that our location provides easy access to major roads leading to Mount Rushmore and Custer State Park, and you are welcome to use our provided bicycles for short trips into town.

To ensure a pleasant stay for all our guests, please note that check in time begins at 16:00 and check out time is by 10:00. We kindly ask that you observe quiet hours between 22:00 and 06:00 to maintain a peaceful environment. Ponderosa is a non smoking property and we are unable to accommodate pets. Please be aware that this home is part of a lodge style property with two other units on site, so you may occasionally see other guests in the parking area or shared outdoor spaces. We provide ample free parking for your convenience and recommend having a vehicle for your travels in the Black Hills. While you have full private access to the home, we are always available via the booking platform or phone if you need any assistance during your visit.

Great location- close to activities and Custer State Park. Very friendly host and responsive to all requests and questions. A few things to know if you stay here: 1. It’s a new listing and still being updated. Everything in the unit is new, clean, and functional. The outside is still undergoing improvements but we enjoyed the space as is with deer, turkeys and ducks all visiting the property. The propane fire pit is perfect for roasting marshmallows! 2. There are other people staying in separate units on the property so if you’re looking to be alone, this isn’t the place to stay. Overall, the neighbor noise was minimal and we honestly enjoyed spending one evening with our neighbors as the kids played and adults talked around the fire. 3. The only negative worth mentioning is there is a street light in the side yard that stays on all night just outside the primary bedroom and there isn’t really a good way to block the light so it did bother us but we made do. 4. There’s a full kitchen in the unit so you can save by grilling or cooking meals on site. And the hosts have just about anything you could need available for utensils etc. Overall, I would recommend this to my friends and family & would absolutely stay again!
