About the Home

The Canopy is light-filled and uplifting, defined by its airy atmosphere and connection to the surrounding landscape. Soft tones and natural textures create a sense of calm, while large windows invite in abundant light.

The living space is open and relaxed, with a gentle palette that reflects the natural environment. French doors lead to adjoining spaces, adding dimension and flow.

High ceilings and an array of windows open views to the historic surroundings. Subtle greenery and modern design accents bring freshness and calm, while refinished heart pine floors honor The Michigan House`s original architecture.

Classic Furnishings, Original Bones

The Canopy leans into the historic character of The Michigan House rather than working around it. Classic furnishings, curated artwork, and soft traditional tones sit comfortably alongside refinished heart pine floors and restored architectural details — the result feels genuinely timeless rather than staged.

Greenery, Calm, And Room To Think

Subtle indoor greenery and a quiet, considered palette make The Canopy feel more like a well-loved home than a rental. The views into the surrounding tree canopy reinforce that sense — this is a space that genuinely settles the mind, whether you`re unwinding after a long day at Stetson or working through a project deadline.

A Kitchen That Earns Its Keep

Everything you need for daily cooking is here — full-size refrigerator, glass-top stove, slimline dishwasher, and countertop microwave in a thoughtfully arranged layout. A stacked washer and dryer in their own private laundry closet rounds out a residence that`s genuinely ready for the long haul.

One More Thing

A discreet hallway door marked `Private` connects The Canopy to an internal staircase leading up to The Loft (VRBO listing #5250048). When unlocked, the two residences combine into a two-level living experience — a useful option for colleagues traveling together or guests expecting visitors for part of their stay.
