It is hard to imagine a more charming combination of Venetian heritage and modern comfort than this apartment on the 2nd floor of a 16th century house, situated in the Castello quarter near Cannaregio and overlooking Palazzo Tetta and Ponte dei Conzafelzi where rio de San Giovanni Laterani and rio della Tetta meet. The two bedrooms, living room and kitchen are equipped with every necessary and modern devices and the rooms tastefully furnished. The flat is full of light and the view from each of the modern and well insulated windows just striking, not to mention the large roof terrace that is accessible from the living room as well as from the kitchen. Additionally to the AC there is a real heating for colder times of the year. Groceries, bars, restaurants are close, just as Rialto bridge and Vaporetto station. As the alley leading to the entrance is rather narrow there is hardly any disturbing tourist’s noise, whereas frequendly the modest bells of San Zanipolo can be heard as part of this city’s melody just as the voices of the gondolieri announcing their boat coming in the blind bend of the canals. Finally Lorenzo is an exemplary, kind host, easy to contact if necessary and caring for his guests. I could have stayed there for ages…

Nothing to really complain about, but the steep staircase might not be suitable for elderly guests with heavy luggage. Bathroom is rather small with a tight shower cabin. Every morning the street sweeper will ring the door bell to pick up your garbage which is great for Venice’s cleaniness but tough when trying to sleep in. Less than minor issues, however.

The location, facilities, warm welcome, air conditioning, comfortable beds, spotlessly clean, lovely linen and towels, water pressure in the shower

I honestly do not have any negative comments in relation to our stay

A very comfortable, charming apartment in an excellent location. Lorenzo was a warm and thoughtful host, and it was a real pleasure to meet him.
