Kaliwatu Villas and Residences

Even though we only stayed one night, our two-bedroom villa felt truly luxurious. The villa is huge, and so are the bedrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, stove and coffee machine, and there's a water cooler in the villa, so there's no need to buy bottled water. Check-in was easy and convenient, and they picked us up from the airport. One tip: Grab cars aren't available on the island, so you'll need to arrange your own transport, though Grab bikes are available.

Honestly, there was nothing I didn't like. The only small thing is that the bathroom walls seem a little thin, but it's a very minor issue.

Fabulous ew luxury villas, beautifully appointed and, mostly, well-constructed. High-end fittings throughout although the decor was a little bit generic. But spacious and very comfortable and suits the 'luxury' label.

The location is awful, and we were warned of 'a bit of construction' before we arrived. But our villa, #5, overlooked a contraction site and some very chunky power cable dangling right in the middle of the 'modest' view. There was also some construction noise in the early evenings on every night we stayed. It take 20 minutes to get to the town. There are NO shops anywhere around the villa location. So factor in some regular visits to town to stock up on anything. The staff were as helpful as possible to arrange taxis etc but it's 100-150,000 IDR each way... so keep that in mind. My other question is whether they are trying to be an 'Airbnb' short-term-rental style or a hotel with villas attached. They seem to be trying to be both.... which was a bit confusing.

We paid for a lovely breakfast which was made for us by staff in or room.

No access to local shops and a 20 minute drive to town. Which we had to pay for a taxi to have dinners.
