Discover Thedell Cottage – A Boutique Heritage Escape

Nestled on tranquil Henry Street, this charming 3‑bedroom stone cottage dates from the 1860s and was once a “lying‑in” maternity home. It’s been sympathetically renovated to preserve original character—think high ceilings, original stonework, a claw‑foot bathtub, cellar and historic features like a restored well capped during renovation.

The interior offers a seamless blend of old and new: three serene bedrooms with plush linens and period-style decor, a modern powder room plus full bathroom with vintage touches, open-plan living with well-equipped kitchenette, and a private garden perfect for al fresco evenings.

Step outside for a short stroll or bike to Mount Horrocks Wines, or wander 3 minutes to Cogwebs Hub Café, known for its homemade fare. The start of the Riesling Trail is also just a short walk (approx. 5 mins), making it easy to cycle or walk through Clare Valley’s scenic vineyards. Auburn offers a handful of reliable cafés and pubs—including the Rising Sun Hotel and award-winning Watervale Hotel.

With self-check-in, complimentary WiFi, air conditioning/heating, and free onsite parking, Thedell Cottage is ideal for couples, families, or history enthusiasts seeking boutique comfort close to cellar doors and countryside trails.

Guests enjoy exclusive use of the entire cottage, garden, terrace and on‑site parking. The property is accessed via Henry Street, Auburn. Check‑in begins at 3 pm and check‑out by 10 am. Self check‑in via lockbox ensures a seamless arrival — detailed instructions are shared in your pre-stay information and guidebook.
