In the other direction, venture 0.5 miles down to Derwentwater to picnic on the shores or tackle the 10-mile circular route all the way round the lake. Strike out on exciting walks and climbs up the nearby fells too, or travel to see some of the other lakes. Ullswater and the Aira Force waterfall are 13.5 miles from the apartment, for example.
