The square is home to the Stanisław Wyspiański Silesian Theatre, one of the region's most important theatres, as well as numerous restaurants, cafés, and pubs with outdoor seating that bring the square to life during the warmer months. Nearby, visitors can also see the September Scouts Monument, an important historical landmark, and explore the city's modern Culture Zone.

Just a few minutes' walk from the Market Square stands the Spodek, the iconic symbol of Katowice and one of Poland's most recognizable landmarks. This distinctive arena hosts concerts by world-famous artists, major sporting events, trade fairs, and large-scale exhibitions, attracting visitors from across Poland and abroad. Together with the nearby International Congress Centre and the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra (NOSPR), Spodek forms the modern Culture Zone, which has become a showcase of contemporary Katowice and one of the city's most important cultural destinations.
