Remodeled barn high on a hill with sweeping views of the Methow and Winthrop.
Perched where the golden larch trees meet the sky, Tamarack on the Hill offers a front-row seat to the rugged elegance of the Methow Valley. From your private wooden plank porch, the world opens up into a panoramic masterpiece, stretching across the valley floor to the western storefronts of Winthrop below.

By day, the sky belongs to the raptors; you can spend hours watching eagles and hawks catch the thermals, circling effortlessly above the pines. When the sun dips behind the North Cascades, the true magic begins. Here, the nights are defined by a profound, velvety silence, broken only by the occasional sigh of the wind. With no city lights to dim the view, the dark sky becomes a theater for a glistening moon and stars so bright they feel within reach—perfect for deep-space gazing while wrapped in a blanket on the deck.

Despite the feeling of total seclusion, the pulse of Winthrop is just a short, scenic walk away. You can spend an afternoon wandering through local art galleries, savoring a flight at the local winery’s tasting room, or treating yourself to handmade treasures at the chocolate and ice cream shop. After a dinner at one of the town’s celebrated restaurants, the stroll back up the hill serves as a quiet transition back to your sanctuary.

Inside, the suite blends rustic charm with modern indulgence:

The Living Space: Sink into the full leather couch or recliner to catch a movie on the streaming-capable TV.

The Kitchen & Bath: A fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities provide all the comforts of home, while the bathroom features both a tub and shower for soaking away a day of hiking.

The Sleeping Quarters: The clever layout offers a spacious loft featuring a King-size bed for peak relaxation, with a comfortable Queen bed situated below to accommodate extra guests or family.

Whether you’re here for the vibrant birdlife or the celestial show at midnight, Tamarack on the Hill is more than just a place to stay—it’s where the Methow Valley finally slows down to meet you.
