The Roots Dubrovnik

The location was fantastic, within a minutes walk of Pile Gate, couldn't get more central for the activities we wanted to do. The bed was comfortable and easy to sleep in. The bathroom was also lovely, smart and modern. Communication from the host Evald was excellent. He sent detailed information about checking in, the location of the apartment, including videos from Pile Gate. Overall, I found the room to be affordable and good value for money. It was my first time in Dubrovnik and I loved it. I will be returning in the near future for a longer stay to explore more. I would happily stay here again.

I had a hard time choosing a place to stay in Dubrovnik as we were traveling with heavy and big luggage and saw accommodations in Dubrovnik are known to be sometimes in places where you have to climb a lot of stairs just to get there. After seeing some nice hotels that were far away from the old town decided to look for a place to stay in old town that was clean, pretty and with no stairs involved, for some divine miracle I found this accommodation, it didnt have a lot of reviews {only like 10) but all of them were very positive so I took a risk and was totally worth it. You get to stay in a brand new apartment right at the hard of old town, there a lot of stores and places to eat just as soon as you open the door. As soon as you book this accommodation you receive messages on whatsapp from Evard who is the property manager, he was always very helpful and kind. The apartment is very clean and everything seems new, there was a double bed, a sofa bed and a minifridge. The AC worked perfectly and if you are tired enough as we were you wont mind all the noise from outside. You are given a code to enter the building and another to enter the apartment so the room does not require physical keys. I would definitely stay in this place again.

While from Pile gate to the entrance of the building there are no steps, inside the 3 story building you do have to climb sets of stairs to get to your apartment as there are no elevators inside, I was informed about this before so I was fine with it but if you have issues climbing steps bare this in mind. There is a switch that turns on and off the Boiler (that heats the water) I know its summer but the water is freezing cold if this thing is not turned on, we were never informed about this, Im an architect so I saw the switch and immediately knew what it was for, but my sister didn't know or understand what this switch did and turned it off so we were left with cold water, Evard the building manager is always quick to answer any questions and explained that the switch had to be on for the water to be heated but this all could be prevented if there was a little sign on top of the switch explaining what it does or have a little brochure with instructions, he said it would take 10 min to heat the water but it took over 20 min. The next day when we took showers again the warm water ran out while my sister was showering (and we hadn't touched the switch) so they need to adjust the setup so the warm/hot water lasts longer. You can leave the luggage in the entrance while you wait to check in but there is nobody there to receive it, we saw the cleaning staff but they don't care, they don't make sure the bags are tagged or that nobody ends up taking someone else's baggage, you just need to trust that no one will take your stuff. On our last night someone kept making A LOT of noise getting in and out the building they were yelling so they need to let the people know not to do that at 2 am in the morning, they did it twice in the night. Also the building is next to a hard rock cafe so expect live music until 10 - 11 pm. The windows don't seem to have any soundproofing.

It is very near from The Pile Gate-the transportation drop-off. Seamless check-in. Also, the owner/staff was very accommodating.

Toplocatie in het centrum, maar zonder storend lawaai. Mooi appartement ontzettend schoon, heerlijk verblijf. Communicatie is Top, snel antwoord op vragen. Makkelijke automatische in en uitcheck. Voor herhaling vatbaar.
