Built in 1926 from recycled railroad timbers, this farmhouse was once a working blackberry farm, with the surrounding woods home to free-ranging pigs. The original family has called Inverness home for over 100 years, and we’ve lovingly restored this farmhouse to honor its roots while welcoming guests today.

The open living area centers around a cozy fireplace, while the farmhouse dining table invites long meals and evenings of good conversation. The fully equipped kitchen features double ovens, butcher-block countertops, and everything needed to enjoy the pleasure of cooking at home.



Start the morning with coffee on the front porch swing as songbirds fill the trees. Spend the afternoon on the screened back porch overlooking the property. Grill dinner beneath the oaks, then gather around the fire pit as the stars come out and resident owls begin to call. For cyclists, Old Place is particularly special. The renowned 47-mile Withlacoochee State Trail is a half mile away, offering one of Florida’s most scenic paved cycling experiences through forests, alongside lakes, and through charming small towns. Ride into historic downtown Inverness for breakfast, locally owned cafés, boutique shopping, and the popular Saturday morning farmers market.
