Secret Garden Guest House

My friend recommended this place to me after staying here herself, so I booked it for my trip and it definitely lived up to her recommendation. The stay was very affordable which is a huge plus for me, because I truly appreciate value for money stays. It’s a really nice place to stay if you want to experience São Vicente rather than just pass through it. The house is right in the village, everything is within easy reach, and the setting is very peaceful despite being so central. The room was very comfortable, the whole house is very clean, and the garden with the jacuzzi is a great touch. As a lone traveller, it was also nice having a shared space where you naturally end up chatting with the other guests, you can cook meals there rather than spending money on expensive restaurants which is a life saver when you want to save up some money, also everything was very well equipped and tidy. The bathroom was spacious and had shampoo and shower gel, also the room included coffee, tea and sugar. The staff were very helpful and kind to me, so more points for great costumer service. Definitely a 10/10 from me and somewhere I’d happily stay again. Léo Bernard

Such a wonderful find in São Vicente. I stayed at Secret Garden and honestly didn’t want to leave. The house feels very comfortable and homely, but still modern and beautifully kept. I especially loved the indoor garden and jacuzzi, this was my favourite part. It’s such a peaceful space and the perfect place to unwind. Everything was very clean, and the hosts were genuinely lovely and attentive. The guest house is very central, which makes it easy to explore São Vicente and there is parking nearby and a bus stop and supermarket just a short walk away. I had a blast and would absolutely come back. I wish you all the best with your small business!

The best stay I’ve had in Madeira. I absolutely loved it! The hosts were incredible and their customer service was genuinely outstanding, it felt refreshing to have hosts caring for you, offering guidance and local tips about the island. From the very beginning, everything was so easy and smooth, especially the check-in, which was straightforward and completely hassle-free. You can really feel how much care they put into making their guests feel comfortable and welcome. The location is honestly unbelievable. You’re incredibly central while still getting that peaceful countryside atmosphere. I genuinely couldn’t believe the price considering the location, the quality of the property and everything you get during your stay. And then there’s the the indoor “secret” garden with the jacuzzi is such a magical space. It’s so peaceful and quiet, and I found myself feeling completely calm and relaxed every time I was there. It really does feel like a little hidden oasis and the name couldn’t be more perfect. The cleanliness was absolutely spot on. Everything was beautifully clean, tidy and well looked after. My bedroom was incredibly comfortable, modern and beautifully decorated, and the whole property has such a lovely atmosphere. The kitchen is also fully equipped with everything you could need, and the shared bathroom is very spacious and modern looking, the shower is huge. The little outdoor space is very nice, they have some chairs and tables there where you can have your breakfast and meals while enjoying the sun :). Another unexpected highlight for me was meeting the other travellers staying at the guest house. Everyone was so kind and lovely, and I had some genuinely great conversations during my stay. It gave the place such a warm and friendly atmosphere without ever feeling overwhelming. The practical side is fantastic too.

Nice location with plenty of parking spaces nearby and also kitchen was well equipped ,the toilet was newly renovated.

In the morning around 5am got woken up every day from the loud roosters and neighbors dog, when i first entered the room there was a strange odor, its not soundproofed at all you can hear people passing in the hallway.
