Royal City Plaza Hotel

Having read all the excellent reviews about this hotel we were underwhelmed. The reception staff, especially the young man who checked us in in the evening, friendly and good. The breakfast was good and had a large choice as well as good espresso coffee. However our room was very small and faced the main road which was very noisy. We did ask to change our room but nothing apparently was available. The hotel itself is very clean and new. However, we were surprised by the manager who asked for my attention and pointed to the booking app on my phone. He then proceeded to click on my account in order for me to write a favourable review in front of him. I was absolutely shocked. I refused to do this saying I would write a review the next day. He then spoke to the reception staff who asked me to give them my phone. They confirmed that they wanted me to write a good review in front of them. I could not believe this as it has never ever happened to us in all our years of travelling. Such coercion! We now realise this is the reason why this hotel has such high ratings and future guests should be aware of this.
