A proposito di questa casa struttura in affitto

Summary:

Casa Vista is a five-bedroom family house in the tall forest of Kalorama, high in the Dandenong Ranges, sleeping ten. Big windows look into the gum trees. There are several living areas, a fireplace, a covered deck with a BBQ, and a downstairs games zone with a Nintendo Switch and toys for little ones. King master with ensuite, a study, full kitchen and laundry. Olinda, Sassafras and the Yarra Valley wineries are all a short drive.

The Space:

Casa Vista is a five-bedroom house in the eucalyptus forest of Kalorama, at the top of the Dandenong Ranges. It sleeps ten. The grown-ups get a long table and a fire. The children get a games room of their own. Every window is full of trees.

The Space

The upper living room has a deep modular lounge and wide windows into the canopy. The dining area seats the whole group at a long table with a bench, and glass doors open onto the covered deck and its BBQ.

The kitchen is fully equipped: oven, gas cooktop, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, baking sheet and all the cooking basics, with a breakfast bar for the early risers.

Downstairs is the family zone, under timber beams beside a black spiral staircase. A fireplace warms the room. Older children and adults play the Nintendo Switch with four Pro Controllers, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario Bros. Wonder, plus digital Hasbro games including Monopoly. Younger guests have their own corner of books, toys and games, and a daybed gives a parent somewhere to read nearby.

Sleeping Arrangements

Five bedrooms for up to ten guests. The king master has its own ensuite, and the other bedrooms and flexible sleeping spaces take the rest of the group. The bathrooms have freestanding baths and rain showers. Black-out blinds, fresh linen and extra pillows and blankets are supplied. A travel cot, high chair, baby safety gates and children's tableware make it easy with a baby.

Work and Connectivity

A dedicated study with a desk, fast Wi-Fi and Smart TVs. Air conditioning and heating throughout, plus washer and dryer. Long-term stays are welcome.

The Deck and Garden

The covered deck sits among the eucalyptus, with outdoor furniture and a BBQ. Native birds are the soundtrack. The backyard gives children room to run. There is parking on site and on the street, and self check-in with a smart lock.

The Neighbourhood

Kalorama sits on the Mount Dandenong Tourist Road, about 47 km east of Melbourne. Across the road from Kalorama Lookout, the Kalorama Kitchen café serves scones, and the lookout itself faces Silvan Reservoir and the Yarra Valley. Kalorama Park has picnic grounds, and Karwarra Australian Plant Garden grows more than 1,400 native species behind Kalorama Memorial Reserve and its playground.

Up the hill, SkyHigh Mount Dandenong has the view back over Melbourne, and William Ricketts Sanctuary sets sculpture among the ferns. Olinda is a short drive: Pie in the Sky for award-winning pies, Ranges at Olinda for a fireside lunch, the Olinda Tea House, and the Pig & Whistle Tavern for a pub dinner. The Dandenong Ranges Botanic Garden and Cloudehill Gardens are best in spring. Olinda Falls is close by.

Sassafras has Miss Marple's Tearoom for Devonshire tea. Further south, Kallista Tea Rooms sits by Sherbrooke Forest, where Sherbrooke Falls, Grants Picnic Ground and the Alfred Nicholas Memorial Garden are all worth an afternoon. The 1000 Steps Kokoda Track Memorial Walk starts at Ferntree Gully. Puffing Billy Railway steams out of Belgrave through Emerald to Gembrook.

Head down the other side into the Yarra Valley for Healesville Sanctuary, Chandon at Coldstream, Rochford Wines, TarraWarra Museum of Art and The Chocolateries Yarra Valley.

Maroondah Hospital in Ringwood East and Angliss Hospital in Upper Ferntree Gully both have emergency departments. Croydon station on the Lilydale line has trains to the city.

Best For

Two or three families sharing a school holiday. Grandparents' birthdays with the cousins. Friends who want a fire, a long table and bushwalks. Anyone combining the Dandenongs with Yarra Valley wineries.

Guest Access:

Guests have exclusive access to Casa Vista during their stay, including the home's bedrooms, multiple living areas, kitchen, study, downstairs family retreat and outdoor spaces.

Self check-in allows you to arrive at your own pace, settle in and begin enjoying your Dandenong Ranges forest escape.

The Neighborhood:

Casa Vista is located in Kalorama, a peaceful village surrounded by the beautiful forests of the Dandenong Ranges.

Towering eucalyptus trees, fern-filled gullies and abundant native birdlife give the area its distinctive sense of escape, while some of the Dandenong Ranges' best-loved villages and attractions remain close by.

Explore the cafés, restaurants and boutiques of Mount Dandenong, Olinda and Sassafras, discover local forest walks and gardens, or spend the day exploring the wineries, restaurants and farm gates of the nearby Yarra Valley.

The Dandenong Ranges Botanic Garden, scenic lookouts and walking trails are all within easy reach, while Puffing Billy Railway and the villages of Belgrave and Emerald make for a wonderful family day out.

Casa Vista gives you the feeling of escaping into the forest while remaining perfectly positioned to experience the best of the Dandenong Ranges.

Getting Around:

A car is recommended when staying at Casa Vista and is the easiest way to explore Kalorama and the wider Dandenong Ranges.

Mount Dandenong, Olinda, Sassafras, local walking trails, gardens and scenic lookouts are all easily accessible by car, while the Yarra Valley is close enough for an easy day trip.

Local roads through the Dandenong Ranges can be winding, and conditions may occasionally be foggy or wet, particularly during the cooler months. Take your time and enjoy the beautiful drive through the forest.

Other Things to Note:

Pets are welcome at Casa Vista — we love that you want to bring your furry friend along.

Casa Vista is surrounded by the natural environment of the Dandenong Ranges. Native birds and wildlife are regular visitors, and leaves, bark and other signs of the surrounding eucalyptus forest are naturally part of the experience.

The Dandenong Ranges can be noticeably cooler than metropolitan Melbourne throughout the year, so we recommend bringing an extra layer, even during the warmer months.

Families with young children are very welcome at Casa Vista. While we've created dedicated spaces for younger guests to enjoy, children should be supervised throughout the home and outdoor areas.

Please also respect our peaceful residential neighbourhood and keep outdoor noise to a minimum, particularly during the evening.

Interaction with Guests:

We provide a fully self-managed experience so you can relax and enjoy your stay in privacy.

If you need anything during your time with us, we’re always just a message away and happy to assist.
