A proposito di questa casa struttura in affitto
I own this house and I look after every guest myself. Fifteen years in property, eight of them hosting, and over 1,600 guest reviews to my name.
WALKING IN
The hall runs straight down to the lounge, and the wall at the end of it is painted deep sapphire and gold. It is the first thing you see from the front door. Through into the dining and kitchen end and the colour changes to emerald over gold. Both walls were painted by artists to my design.
THE LIVING AREAS
Two of them, which is what makes this house work for six people rather than four. The lounge is where everyone ends up in the evening. The dining and kitchen end is where breakfast runs long and nobody gets up.
THE KITCHEN
Built around a breakfast island, with a Smeg stove at one end. Fully equipped and meant to be cooked in, not reheated in.
THE BEDROOMS
Three, all queen, all with hotel-quality linen. Two are quiet and plain and good for sleeping in. The third has a retro two-player arcade table in it, loaded with 60 games, along with the bed and a stack of board games — a bedroom with an arcade table in it rather than a games room, and the thing people mention most when they come back.
THE BATHROOM
One bathroom, with a clawfoot tub deep enough to be worth the water and a separate walk-in shower. There is also a separate toilet, which takes the pressure off in the morning.
Being straight with you: one bathroom for six people works well for a family or a group who know each other. If you are six adults who all need to be out the door at eight, it is worth knowing before you book rather than after you arrive.
OUTSIDE
A front veranda, which is where the first coffee of the day tends to happen while the street is still waking up. Out the back, an outdoor dining table and a fully fenced yard.
The fence is the reason a lot of people book this house. Dogs can be off the lead and small children cannot get out the front, and that is rarer than it should be this close to the city.
PETS
Pets are welcome. Let me know at booking and I will sort it out. A pet fee of $120 applies.
PARKING AND ARRIVAL
Driveway parking directly outside, plus free street parking.
Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is 10am. If you are landing late, that is not a problem — the lockbox means you can let yourself in whenever you get here.
After booking you will get a secure link for online check-in — ID verification and a rental agreement, a few minutes. Your lockbox code comes through by message 24 hours before you arrive, once that is done. The lockbox is at the front door and the key is inside it.
I send you a digital guide with the booking: arrival instructions, how everything works, and the local list — where to eat and drink, day trips, and the places I go myself. After that I leave you alone unless you need me.
THE AREA
Inglewood is the quiet side of good.
Beaufort Street is where you will eat. It runs the length of Inglewood — coffee in the morning, a long lunch, small bars in the evening, and the Astor Theatre if you want a film in a room with a ceiling worth looking at. There is a monthly night market when the weather turns.
The buses run along Beaufort straight into the city, which is the part people are surprised by. The CBD is 4.8km, so you can leave the car in the driveway and still get into Perth and back.
The Swan River is an easy drive, and so is the airport.
THINGS TO KNOW
Six guests. Three queen bedrooms, one bathroom, and a separate toilet.
Pets welcome — tell me at booking, a pet fee of $120 applies.
No smoking or vaping anywhere, inside or out.
No parties or events, and only the guests on the booking. If you would like to have people over, ask me first. The person booking needs to be 25 or over.
Quiet hours are 10pm to 7am Monday to Saturday, and until 9am on Sundays and public holidays, inside and out.
There is an exterior security camera at the property. It covers the entry and driveway only, never any interior or private space. To help maintain a peaceful environment, the property is also fitted with a privacy-compliant noise monitoring device. It measures noise levels only and does not record conversations.
If something is not right while you are here, message me during the stay rather than after it. I would far rather fix it.
