Get ready to relax in this 2-bedroom house in Narrows Virginia
The superb bedrooms feature a king bed and a queen bed, offering guests a comfortable night’s sleep on luxurious memory foam mattresses. With two bathrooms,(one with an extra large soaking tub) mornings are easy and convenient.
Indoor and outdoor dining makes for peaceful, private nights brought alive with birdsong, crickets and frogs. The house stays cozy year-round thanks to heating and air conditioning. An iron is also available to keep your clothes looking fresh. Whether you’re unwinding after a day of exploring or enjoying a quiet morning coffee, this marvelous home provides an excellent retreat. Two acres of quiet, relaxing forest on the mountain are provided free of charge. You may encounter wildlife like deer, rabbits and chipmunks on your morning strolls.
Wifi and streaming is available also.
ACTIVITIES
Three miles from the Mill Creek hiking area which includes:
Hiking along Mill Creek and experiencing four large waterfalls and dozens of smaller ones.
Advanced (technical) Intermediate and beginner hikes, long, short, or turn back anytime you want, small gains in elevation or hiking up the entire mountain.
The Narrows entrance to the Appalachian Trail (AT) is in the Mill Creek hiking area and Narrows is just five miles from the Pearisburg entrance: stunning views either way.
Exploring the New River: several river rafting rafting and fishing companies are near by. You can also fish or canoe wolf creek, only half a mile from "Secluded Serenity". Also the City of Narrows has a park only two miles away, full of picnic areas, a splash pad for little ones, playground equipment and swimming in the creek.
The Cascades (a large waterfall) are 10 miles away in Pembroke, VA. A two mile hike through enchanting "Hobbit like" trail leads to a spectacular waterfall.
Bird watching is everywhere as is raw, undeveloped forest. Enjoy exploring on your own. Guidebooks are free of charge in the house.
Several interesting restaurants are available nearby: The hometown in Peterstown, WV, Mountain Lake Lodge near Pembroke, the Swinging Bridge in Paintbank, the Happy Hog and Food and Family in Pearisburg.
If you are interested in shopping, sports, or museums, Virginia Tech (VT) is thirty minutes away in Blacksburg.
