The entire Val di Chiana is dotted with these characteristic farmhouses commissioned, after the reclamation of the valley starting from the end of the 1700s, by the Grand Duke of Tuscany Pietro Leopoldo to improve the living conditions of the farmers, and for this reason called Leopoldine.
The location is strategic for artistic and cultural itineraries.
We are a short distance from fascinating, evocative and history-rich locations such as Montepulciano, Cetona, Pienza, Cortona, Sarteano and Città della Pieve.
Those who also seek well-being will know how to take advantage of the many areas rich in thermal waters such as Chianciano Terme, Rapolano and San Casciano dei Bagni.
The nature itineraries are a further discovery. We are in a vast and fertile plain that was originally marshy and rich in water.
The name "I CHIARI" is given by the two small bodies of water not far from the farm. Surrounded by reeds and woods of poplars, maples and weeping willows, in an enchanting atmosphere, here are Lake Chiusi and Lake Montepulciano.
The latter is a Nature Reserve where it is possible to go on excursions with the Ecological Boat.
Lake Trasimeno is also a short distance away, magnificently overlooked by the castle town of Castiglione del Lago.
