Town: Onich is a pretty highland village stretching along the shores of Loch Linnhe, an area of stunning scenery and natural unspoilt beauty. Onich has good local services including a shop and hotels that provide quality dining and lively pubs. The vibrant town of Fort William lies 10 miles to the north and is home to Ben Nevis, the UK’s highest mountain. Fort William has many visitor attractions including the Jacobite Steam Train, as featured in the Harry Potter films that runs between Fort William and the quaint fishing port of Mallaig on the west coast. Take a short drive south across the Ballahullish Bridge to the breathtaking and historic area of Glencoe where the National Trust have a visitor centre for visitors who will appreciate the magic of the glen and its poignant history. Onich is part of the larger area known as Lochaber and this provides some the finest scenery in Britain with much to do and see.
