Corner Cottage - A Fell and Loom -Swallows and Amazons crafted stay consists of a kitchen equipped with an electric oven and hob, washing machine, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle and toaster, and a sitting room with a woodburning stove. The bedrooms consist of a king-size, a double, and a bunk room, served by a bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. Smart TV and WiFi are available. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent, along with a starter pack for the woodburning stove. Outside, there is a private outdoor seating area with furniture, ideal for relaxing after a day exploring the Lake District. One well-behaved dog welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Region: Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.
Town: Ulverston is a traditional market town built around a cobbled main street. It boasts a fine selection of independent shops, café’s, and pubs with open fires and real ales. There is an extensive selection of eating places to suit everyone, from fine dining to traditional pub food. Ulverston is also well known as a festival town, with events ranging from flags and walking to art and music festivals throughout the summer months and with the renowned Dickensian Christmas festival in late November. It is the birthplace of Stan Laurel and world record holder of the biggest foam pie fight in the world giving a glimpse into the fun community spirited little town. There are excellent walks around the town and beautiful countryside, with views of the southern Lake District and Morecambe Bay. Home to the deepest, widest and shortest canal, which makes for a lovely afternoon walk with a pub at the end and views over the bay. All of the attractions of the National Park are also easily reached. The Furness Coast boasts sandy beaches and good birdwatching. Nearby family attractions include the South Lakes Wild Animal Park, Lakes Windermere and Coniston and popular Birkrigg Common, with its incredible panoramic views across Morecambe Bay.
