Nestled among the pines in the sought-after Cowboy Heaven Cabins neighborhood, this cozy ski-in/ski-out retreat combines rustic character with modern comforts, making it the perfect home base for family ski vacations, summer adventures, and everything in between.
Inside, vaulted ceilings, handcrafted log accents, and unique wildlife murals create a warm mountain atmosphere. After a day exploring Big Sky, gather around the gas stove with a cup of cocoa, watch your favorite show, or step outside and relax beneath the stars in your private hot tub.
The open-concept great room is designed for spending quality time together. Comfortable seating surrounds the gas stove and flat-screen TV with YouTubeTV, while large windows bring the beauty of the surrounding forest indoors. A queen sleeper sofa provides additional sleeping accommodations when needed.
The adjacent dining area seats four and flows into a fully equipped kitchen featuring an electric range and oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, and drip coffee maker. Whether you're preparing a hearty breakfast before hitting the slopes or enjoying a quiet dinner after a day outdoors, you'll find everything you need close at hand.
Note: Washer + Dryer will be installed this fall 2026.
Ski Access:
One of the best features of Stirrup Summit Cabin is its true ski-in/ski-out access to both Moonlight Basin and Big Sky Resort. Located in the coveted Cowboy Heaven area, you'll enjoy the convenience of stepping onto the slopes just moments from your door, maximizing your time on the mountain.
Families will also appreciate the home's easy access to the Madison Base Area and Ski School, making morning lessons simple and stress-free.
Ski Out:
Step from the cabin onto the Gambler ski access trail. This access connects to Powder River, providing a direct route toward Moonlight Lodge and the Iron Horse Lift.
Ski In:
From the top of Iron Horse Lift or Six Shooter Lift, follow signs for Powder River. Ski through the concrete tunnel and bear right onto the Gambler ski access trail. Continue along the trail back to Cowboy Heaven, where you'll arrive just steps from Stirrup Summit Cabin.
Please note that ski access is dependent upon weather and lift operations. Access lifts typically open in early to mid-December and may close before Big Sky Resort's scheduled closing day based on snow conditions. Ski-in/ski-out access is available only while the access lifts are operating.
