A proposito di questa casa struttura in affitto
Beautifully renovated and tucked down a gated courtyard just off Burford's High Street, this cottage is the newest addition to our Cotswolds collection, sleeping four across two bedrooms. Where two log burners, two indulgent baths beneath original wooden beams, and warmth in every soft detail make it feel like the perfect romantic hideaway, unmistakably Cotswolds, quietly one of a kind.
The Space:
The Old Pheasantry sits in the heart of Burford, a thriving market town in the Cotswolds, where independent delis, butchers and bakeries line the High Street, alongside cosy pubs, incredible restaurants and the well-loved Burford Garden Company.
Further afield, the picturesque towns of Stow-on-the-Wold, Woodstock, Chipping Norton and Cirencester are all a short drive away, as is Daylesford Organic Farm, and Soho Farmhouse for members. Oxford and Cheltenham are within easy reach, and London is reachable by train from nearby Charlbury or Oxford Parkway in under an hour and a half.
Through the gated courtyard, the ground floor opens straight into a warm kitchen and dining space, a log burner crackling by the table, a cosy built-in bench tucked beneath the stairs. It's an easy, sociable room to start and end the day in, whether that's coffee before a walk or wine after one.
Upstairs, the sitting room is a proper retreat: exposed brick and beams, a second log burner, a deep sofa to sink into, and a window bench looking out over the High Street below. Along the landing, a copper roll-top bath sits beneath the beams, all soft light and hot water rather than a shower, a lovely spot to soak after a day exploring. Next door, a cosy double bedroom offers a quieter, simpler retreat, plush underfoot and easy to settle into.
And then, up a final flight, the cottage's real moment: an attic suite with a vaulted ceiling, a super king bed dressed in crisp Egyptian cotton, and an open bath set on a raised, pebbled platform right in front of it. Candlelight, a glass of something good, and a bath within reach of the bed, this is the room people will remember. A separate en-suite shower room sits just alongside, for the mornings that call for something quicker.
Guest Access:
You'll have full private use of the cottage throughout your stay. Free parking is available on the street, with an off-site car park a short walk away as backup, so arriving is never something to worry about.
Check in from 4PM and check out by 10AM. Let yourself in at your own pace with self check-in via key box, and just call if anything needs sorting; we're never far away.
The Neighborhood:
Burford's sloping High Street, and honey-coloured stone make it one of the best-known towns in the Cotswolds. From Courtyard Cottage, all of it is a few quiet minutes' walk away, even though you'd never spot the cottage from the street itself. Independent shops, good coffee and a proper Sunday lunch are all close by.
The River Windrush runs through the town with peaceful walking routes alongside it, and the surrounding countryside opens out quickly into classic Cotswold scenery. Jeremy Clarkson's Diddly Squat Farm and The Farmer's Dog pub are a short drive away, if you don't mind the queues.
Further afield, Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and Daylesford are all within easy reach by car, and Cirencester is around half an hour away for further shopping and restaurants. For longer stays, Charlbury station has direct trains to London.
Getting Around:
Burford has no train station of its own, but Charlbury is close by, with direct trains to Oxford and London Paddington. From there, it's a short taxi ride into town, best booked ahead as there's no direct bus link.
By car, Burford sits just off the A40, with easy access from the A34 and M40. Once you've arrived, you won't need the car again until you leave. Parking in the town is free, both on the street and in the riverside car park, and everything from here on is on foot.
Other Things to Note:
The Old Pheasantry is happy to welcome one small dog, and is child friendly too. Please note the layout isn't suited to guests with limited mobility, the main living space is upstairs, and the stairs up to the attic suite are steep.
Quiet hours run from 10.30PM to 8AM. In keeping with the peace of the setting, we ask for no parties and no smoking anywhere in the property.
Interaction with Guests:
The Old Pheasantry was made for relaxing getaways, and we try to be too. The space is entirely yours from the moment you arrive, with just enough support sitting quietly in the background - there if a question comes up, invisible if it doesn't.
Whether that means a slow morning in the courtyard, or a day spent exploring the town and the country beyond it, we're happy to help it unfold at your own pace, not ours.
