A grand historic mansion on one of the prettiest, quietest streets downtown, half a block off Bay Street and completely redone down to the last lamp and linen. Two king bedrooms, a queen, and an upstairs loft with two full beds the kids will claim on sight. The main floor is wide open, so a big group can actually be together. Out back, a private courtyard with a hot tub under the string lights. Leave the car behind and walk to everything: River Street, the squares, the restaurants, all of it.
The space
Walk in and the house does the talking. Soaring ceilings, deep navy walls, original fireplaces, and a crystal chandelier over a sitting room made for a slow second cup of coffee. Every piece of furniture, every rug, every lamp and linen is brand new and chosen for this house. Two king bedrooms, one of them en suite. A queen bedroom wrapped in hand-painted scenic wallpaper. Upstairs, a tucked-away loft with two full beds. Two full bathrooms plus a half bath on the main floor.

Deep lacquered navy walls, a crystal chandelier over the front parlor, hand-painted scenic wallpaper in the queen bedroom, a leather chesterfield in the library made for a rainy Savannah afternoon. Two king bedrooms, one en suite. A queen. Upstairs under the eaves, a loft with two full beds that children will fight over. Two full baths and a powder room. Sleeps 8.
The main floor opens all the way through, so eight people are together instead of scattered — dinner at one table, drinks carrying out to the courtyard.
Out back: brick underfoot, greenery climbing every wall, string lights overhead, and a hot tub that is the best seat in the city at ten at night.
Then there is the street itself. Quiet, shaded, romantic — the kind of block people slow down and photograph on their way somewhere else. Bay Street is half a block up, River Street just past it, and the squares, Forsyth Park, and the best tables in Savannah are all an easy walk. There is a parking garage directly behind the house at about $12 a day, though most guests park once and never think about the car again.
